The Pentacostal Church Has Instructive Origins

I want to share an article recently sent to me about the origins of the Pentacostal Church, which has come a long way from where it started. It began on Asuza Street in Los Angeles, with a church where miracles were happening. Now, it’s more known for its rigid structure than its miracles.

This story is relevant now because like many of our own wonderful ideas we create an institution around, personal or political, they don’t work for us now, they need amending or a completely different foundation upon which a new miracle can appear. Great ideas give way to structure, which must necessarily rot us, or we transform it. This is the time, right now in December 2011, when we have a chance to get re-established in better structures and greater freedom.

Eric Teissedre’s Divination Astrology for the Holidays and Beyond

Here’s astute astrologer Eric’s take on Thanksgiving 2011 and the coming, much heralded 2012. While writing my newsletter, I asked him to weigh in after noticing  very intense astrological aspects on Turkey Day…this was his reply:

“If there are unresolved family issues, watch out! There is every sign of things being at an emotional peak. Good time to hide the steak knives…around turkey dinner! Knowing this, you can arm yourself with protection by realizing emotions do not always make sense. In fact, they come from a more subjective way of thinking. It is also helpful to realize that people are not always talking about us. They tend to be talking about themselves when making pointed comments. There is a possibility of many children being conceived during the holidays, since couples could be taking refuge within their own relationship. It is a time to surround yourself by those you really love. Once again, the holidays, in particular, Christmas, should be a celebration, that focuses on sharing with significant people. There has been a trend to make Christmas completely about money and things. Well thought out gifts could be a plus and without being crass, gift certificates and money allows people to buy what it is they really want! Both personally and nationally, there are revelations of secrets. You could find out that you know things about people you never thought consciously. It is as if we are beginning the purge of 2012. There is every sign of emotion, and holiday and emotion can be a strange mix. I truly feel we should invest in those who are our support, those we truly love. Try to bury old grievances and do not linger and participate in any battles that are un-resolvable. Capture the magic of the holidays. Bring this time back. This is the time of renewal, rebirth, of the light. It is supposed to be a sacred time of the year.” Eric Teissedre, November 1, 2011  Eric’s blog: click here

Fascinating Fall 2011 Astrological Insights and Beyond from Eric Teissedre

Eric's Fall 2011 Astrology

Eric's Fall 2011 Astrology

This morning I posted this article at the Examiner, and just saw in the headlines that Christie is saying “NO” to running.. .see candidate discussion below.

Eric Teissedre is a master astrologer and metaphysician who combines horary astrology and divination to create the most accurate readings I’ve come across. He answers questions or gives a general overview at emerald47@aol.com. I highly recommend Eric! This morning I asked him his thoughts about Fall, 2011, and he shot back this interesting email I want to share with you:

“This cast is ruled by Mercury, which is the planet of communication, also change. It is not the most stable of planets. It can often mean things are not as they appear to be. I also feel that the election of next year is starting very much now. There will be changeable candidates come forth, people dropping in to the electional race, people dropping out. There will definitely be a lot of intrigue. The election exerts a lot of influence, even being a year away.

Banks are in the forefront, both with their need to make up for financial loss, and a need to start charging more money. Curiously enough, there are signs that show public opposition and it is very much a time when the collective consciousness can start demanding that government to a degree, serves the people. I would call this the war of the year. It is not as important who wins as it is that the government is reminded they are elected officials that serve the people. They are not an institution unto themselves. So, whoever wins the election is that person that starts directing energy back as much to the people as possible.

Obama is beginning to show those stress signs that all presidents get in office. I truly believe there is a secret and silent war going on. We saw this with Bin Laden, a few men accomplished what an army could not. There is every indication of secret and military, these two words going together. Special troops, significantly trained, able to accomplish tasks in a manner that large troops could not.

This Fall leads in to an amazing time. the Mayan calendar does not change in a day, does not end next December. There has been a transition for some time. I truly believe that consciousness affects fate and consciousness can be used as a medium for healing. This is something we are all going to be involved with, a returning to a sane lifestyle, better food, better healing, a recognizing how negative thinking creates negative and positive creates positive.

I will go out on a limb with this last statement: I truly believe the cures for many diseases are already in existence. The problem is that the pharmaceutical business has been managing disease and does not want the cure of the diseases. Spirit moves in a mysterious way. Allow the healing knowledge to come forth, cure the diseases that exist, and you will see financial correction with social health care.”

(Note about Eric’s “war of the year”: In the January 2011 newsletter, I predicted that the biggest event of the year would happen late Summer/early Fall. When Ghadafi fell, I thought that was probably it. Now I think it’s the Occupy Wall Street movement.)

Eric Teissedre’s Spiritual Tributes to Michael Jackson and Miriam Makeba

A few thoughts about two greats, by spiritual counselor Eric Teissedre:

I am compelled to say something about Michael Jackson, from a spiritualist point of view. Michael was touched by the solar. Perhaps this archetype was one of his angels. Often difficult lives have a light or guide that comes through to help them. His spiritual attributes in part were solar, often showing the ability of art– music in particular. Great power often comes through the solar creativity. The solar, also the sixes by some card readers, is the death and resurrection sign. With his passing, like Elvis, he will be remembered more than in life. This is solar; often the solar becomes a sacrifice to a cause. He will affect those that knew him greatly, especially his children, which are now on the road of transformation by his spirit. Regardless of what you feel about an individual’s earthy existence, we can be touched greatly by the spirit they channel.

Miriam Makeba was from South Africa. If you have ever seen her, then you have been touched by the Spirit. If you have not, then you are in for a great treat.
You can see Miriam Makeba on You Tube. If by chance you don’t like a particular song, then look at another. No two songs or delivery of a song is quite the same. She herself said “I feel different spirits when I sing” and you will notice the truth of this statement, seeing her deliver different songs. According to Miriam, her mother was a healer. This would be called a “sangoma” in Zulu land. “While I myself have never healed, I know some things and I know about the spirits”, said Miriam. Zulu healers use spirits as part of their healing. Miriam Makeba, while on tour as a young woman, was forced into exile from her homeland. This lasted some 30 years. It was through an invitation to participate in a concert by Paul Simon, that she returned some time in the 1980’s. Called “Mother Africa” by her followers, Miriam left this world last year, in 2008. Truly a great inspiration and divine woman

Magick by Eric Teissedre

…another way to get in touch with your inner self, your magical self, and divine guidance, from master practitioner Eric Teissedre in San Francisco. Eric can be reached at 415-474-2361
Magick

This is a magical inspiration, designed to make the subject of magick more user-friendly.
Magick is the wild west of metaphysical studies. There are more bizarre ideas that show up under the title of magick than in any other metaphysical field, ideas you could never get away with in a sane circle!

Magick has always invoked a certain amount of fear and confusion. It has always been a secretive subject, written in codes that were quite confusing. The middle ages didn’t do anything but add more confusion to an already mysterious subject. We are arriving at the time of no secrets. More and more information is available to the public and with subjects like cross-cultural shamanism coming into view, it adds more light on the subject of magick. A lot of what I write about is from my own perception and is my own opinion, but this is a subject I have been delving into since the mid-60’s.  Here is my view:

All ritual is prayer and this gives a broad view to the word prayer. Prayer is composed of two elements. One is energy, sometimes called grace. The other is consciousness and the creating of thought forms. There are times that prayers don’t have enough power and may have to be done repetitiously to have an effect. Certain parts of ritual are designed to raise power. This is done through trance, toning, power songs, power dances, drums and rattles, and this is done to build chi, to build power.

Now there are three elements of magick. One is contacting the source, also called the guardian, high self or inner spirit. The second is cleaning, removing the blocks that affect energy, affect chakras. Cleaning is extremely important. The last is blessing, or charging, bringing positive energy into your being. This is all done in a sacred circle, a magic circle.

Now, we want to keep this subject of magick simple. We don’t want to be bogged down with endless ritual or ritual for ritual sake, or a whole series of tools that don’t truly serve any practical purpose. You can create your magickal circle in your mind. Once you are in sacred space, call in your own way divine light and sense that this is in the center of your being, no particular place in your body, just the center of your being. Affirm to this light that you are being cleansed of unwanted energy and you are being blessed.

At this point, see what your mind gives you, see what memories come up. See what images pass across your mind. Many practitioners work with animal spirits. I am not sure that they are actually working with animal spirits or that the divine, which is formless, part of the quantum, is speaking to the practitioner in a subjective language. It doesn’t matter. The whole point of this exercise is to build a communication with the divine within.

Thank your inner contact when you are done, release and step back out into the everyday world. Don’t worry about releasing your sacred inner magick circle. Who knows, it could serve you as a tool for protection. Keep your work simple, to the point, and positive.

Ancient magicians called this: “conversation with the holy guardian angel” and it was meant to be the center of the magical work. Shamans would call this: “communication with the guardian spirit.”

At a later date, we can share some power building techniques and more ways to work with the spirit.

I Ching for Spring by Eric Teissedre

I Ching Divination by Eric Teissedre

Long before the book of the I Ching, shamans were casting the 8 tri-grams as a means of ascertaining information. Divination gives boundaries to the intuitive process and divination can be quite fluid. A single sign can mean many things. An example of this: I was assisting with the management of an apartment building in San Francisco. One day, there was a very loud popping sound coming somewhere in the building. We searched and searched but could not find this very loud noise. So, I cast the I Ching, one hexagram and got “water above fire”.  Now, if I had used the book, it wouldn’t have been much help. But, thinking water above fire, we went down to the boiler room and lo and behold, there were small exploding sounds coming from the boiler. This is not to say the book is not valuable for interpretation, especially when you need guidance and you don’t want to project a wishful answer.
I would like to give you an example for the spring, a spring reading. Holding six rather large Chinese coins I have used for some time, I will make a contact with my inner source, which is being done simultaneously to this article being written. I ask that these signs be relevant to those reading this article. What I get is heaven above the lake. If this was to be written using the numbers one and zero, one for yang and zero for yin, or one straight line, zero broken line, it would appear as such.

If you are not used to seeing tri-grams in this fashion, it is the same as yin and yang, straight lines, broken lines.
Interpretation from a purely intuitive perspective: the lake is the ruler.  It can symbolize your source. It has a correspondence to Saturn. Saturn is now retrograde. Retrograde means go back, finish those things unfinished, restart your thinking about your true career, find that thing you truly love that is indicated by heaven, make your life as virtuous and as beautiful as possible. The heavenly tri-gram is solar. Try to work for yourself as much as possible. Get away from these nuts who are extracting all this work for insult and little pay. Don’t work for the devil! Work for heaven! We have come through a cycle that has not been virtuous. It has been a time of manipulation in which others own your hard earned money. Pull back, work for yourself, and don’t make investments, not with Saturn retrograde. It can be three years before investments are safe. If you can ride it out, do so. Find who needs your skill, work for them as if you are an independent agent, be willing to move on the minute things are not correct. Be versatile, do not get stuck. There is no better time for self-investment than now. Short term investments can be good, i.e. to buy and sell that fixer-upper, or to eliminate and sell antiques or second hand items.
Last but not least, invest in your own self education. There is a need to believe in the glory of self!  Stop empowering those outside of you, or believing that they have more authority or ability because of their credentials.
If you were to see other things in these tri-grams, different from what I saw, it would not make your interpretation less correct. In this system, you stimulate the intuitive process, but have a left-brain tool to guide that process. It is like going to the tarot reader, it would be frustrating if they stopped to interpret each card through the book to verify their reading is on track. This system is part of a number of systems used in China, in ancient times. Some of them have a surprising similarity to divination used in Africa.
