This month’s theme is: “growing in power”. If you are ripe to expand, current planetary influences can jet-propel you personally and professionally.
The expansive trend begins July 24-26th, with a Sun-Jupiter conjunction and then Mars moving into Scorpio, signifying things happen faster and move forward more easily now.
Be “all in”, whatever you do this month. Be willing in September to devote time to new developments. Willingly give details that add to your credibility and make sure they’re available. Willingness is the key ingredient to moving forward in August.
To increase your willingness, take a moment to wish yourself the best. Think something like: “I’m open to the best happening to me now…let what’s best for me find me today and let me recognize it. Together let us be brighter than before.” Make a statement about whatever makes you feel open to expansion and the best happening…
Be leery of over-scheduling. Another likely circumstance is that you will be living up close and personal with new truths, which can take a lot of energy and a lot of time. You can feel alternately vulnerable and visible in on-stage August, meanwhile working steadily towards a better place you can see.
Be open to change and willing to act on desire… and be sure to act on any desire you sense leads to something important.
The dictionary definition of intuition: “Immediate apprehension or cognition”…in other words, one just knows. It happens to almost everybody some time or other… “the power or faculty of attaining direct knowledge or cognition without evident rational thought and inference.”
Whether here in my office in Santa Fe, New Mexico, or anywhere else in the world via telephone, people ask the same questions about their own psychic experiences. Here are a couple of common questions people ask about their intuition:
“How do I make my intuition work at will? I can’t make it happen when I want to.“
You can get an intuitive answer to a question from your own self, but it depends on what question you ask, and how. For instance, “When am I going to get married?” likely gets no response from your intuition, but getting quiet, breathing in a nice, easy rhythm, and asking your inner self to give you guidance about love and intimate relationships, will get a response. Count whatever response you get as an answer. If no ideas or pictures ever come, it’s telling you first, communication is blocked and you need to establish a closer relationship with your intuition and inner guidance. You can try these two guided imagery exercise–they’re designed to help you access intuition and spiritual guidance.
“How do I know it’s not my imagination?”
Your imagination is not always in your best interest, but your intuition is, although sometimes it’s not clear at first why your intuition led you where it did. We are complicated creatures. Your imagination is what you use to be receptive to your intuition: it responds to guided imagery and any process where you suspend judgment, enter your imagination, and let the Universe, your own body, or a spiritual being talk to you. Since the intuition is designed to navigate towards heartfelt desires, you can trust its snap judgments–they are meant to allow you to flow and dance with life. And sometimes skip gracefully away before it’s too late.
Your intuition is able to supply a steady flow on an “as-needed basis”, of appropriate responses, impulses, and understandings. It takes its cue and gathers data to present to you, generated by the shifting intentions of your many-faceted self. On the other hand, you can imagine someone is not talking to you because he/she wants nothing to do with you, when in fact the person had laryngitis for two weeks and was not returning messages. If you have fears that feel like intuitions, test them out by asking your intuition to give you input on your fears. Form a question for your intuition about it, and then ask.

It’s a new year, and right away it feels surprisingly different than last. I hope I can trust this lighter feeling, even though birds are dropping out of the sky in weird mass die-offs. My vague sense of well-being reminds me of a past Winter Solstice omen walk, when I got lost in the snowy hills of Santa Fe. for about 7 hours. (The resulting message was “We learn the hard way”, and it was about our decision to declare war on Iraq.) I was getting really scared, and suddenly the atmosphere lifted and I knew inside I was going to be okay. About twenty minutes later, a dirt road appeared, and then my parked car. I hope that’s an accurate metaphor for 2011!
Like most media-consumers, I’m programmed to expect apocalyptic gloom in 2012, so my gut sense of positivity about 2011 gave me pause. To make sure I’m not kidding myself in thinking the best is yet to come, I cut the tarot cards just this minute on 2011–giving the tarot a final chance to show me what cards and layout truly represents it. The cards are: the Ace of Swords, the 6 of wands, and The Star. This, in the language of the tarot, is equivalent to pointing to the hand of man: how solutions can arise through brainpower and innovation. (Although the other phrase for the year, “I can’t see very well”, says solutions don’t show up right away.)
Here in Santa Fe, new programs, museums and attractions offer more in 2011 for tourists and locals alike. Santa Fe remains one of the happening-est little cities in the country. I hope you come visit, I’m here through most of the tourist season. and I’ll surely be down at the Plaza this Summer, dancing at the free bandstand concerts!
I have some new features for you, please read what’s new from me in the section below, and check out my regular updates and articles at the Examiner and on my blog.
All prices for psychic counseling and healing services will remain the same in 2011. (505-982-3294) Have a Happy New Year!

Interesting community radio from Massachusetts that comes in better on my computer than any other station! I’ll be doing clairvoyant readings on the air, 413-585-1033, in answer to your love-life and relationship questions, 4-5 pm East Coast time, Monday, February 14th. I invite you to listen in, and also view the special Valentine’s Day guided imagery exercise on my blog, for gaining insight about harmony in your own intimate relationships…look for it on the 14th.
Sutton, Massachusetts: February 18th psychic development, message, and healing circle. I’m also available for in-person psychic counseling and healing sessions, please call or email to make an appointment, 505-982-3294, firstname.lastname@example.org

Retired for now: No more astrological birthday cards–although I always will respond to the spiritual call of the zodiac if it’s time to make them again, maybe in 2012. Thanks to all who wrote in to “Questions for Cupid”, also discontinued because of Too Much On My Plate. (Now I want to load it up again with some new reference articles for my website, about the tarot and other metaphysical subjects.)

2011: “The Hand of Man”
This is when the genius wakes up in a lot of people, or when we find out what some amazing problem-solvers have been up to. Furious collaborations can take place behind the scenes, ongoing now in the beginning of the year, and then again, before certain revelations are made about developments that mean a lot to all people. “The hand of man”…we see what it means to step up to the plate, as many do in 2011. Some people really catch fire towards the end of the year.
“…I can’t see very well” could sum up 2011 as well. It is a minefield of activity, as events and developments go off like firecrackers around the world, and all in different directions, seemingly portending different collective fates. (Many of the most positive developments are happening in secret, to be revealed later.)
New developments that change the equation, new surprising alliances, and terrible disasters …Nature makes room for it all in 2011. It may not be until the middle of 2012 that a collective seal of approval comes, a general sense that “we made it”. (The December 2010 newsletter describes the revolutions and upheavals going on in the beginning of 2011, and also concludes it’s “the dying at the beginning of something new”)
Women continue their upward journey after many long years of torture and revilement, and will continue to martyr themselves this year and die to tell their story, but they are gaining ground in different places, and their voices and issues are heard more.
Our collective consciousness makes a place for fear to manifest…it may be far from us, but still we’re connected to fearful events that touch everybody, regardless of race and religion. We’re here to witness the birth of many new things, places, beings, and becomings, and some of their chapters are stark and terror-filled. Be aware of the love you can also feel from all beings willing to connect. This development is a sure evolutionary bet , and one we will feel before it comes.
There’s a concentration of inevitable conflicts and karmic encounters, but not in the United States. Here in the U.S., there’s the potential finally for good infrastructure, so that the government’s workings have the peoples’ back, but this potential is latent, a safe scaffolding not yet erected. Still, the U.S. is now about building things, and other countries are having show-downs.
The Mood: Time’s have changed, it’s not so grim. There’s light around the edges…we’re smiling more. Life is delivering more, needs are met more, and we are even divine sometimes in our growing acceptance of others. This scent of our own divinity becomes very strong in the Spring of 2012.
What Grows: The atmosphere of 2011 fosters the growth of community, innovation, scientific exchange, and whatever can be received through antennas out in space.
The force of young people without prejudice and how they will influence the world, is upon us.
There’s a flight to spiritual realms…through all kinds of means, many more have the goal of communion with the divine. There’s a deep yearning within for real, felt connections with the spiritual side of life. (Coincidentally, three philosophers are now discussing the relevance of the ancient Greeks, and how they revered life and cared about everything. In Greek theaters, they literally embodied the divine, and were mediums for their gods. One new book about the Greeks by philosophers Huburt Dreyfus and Sean Dorrance Kelly is reviewed in the December 31st Wall Street Journal in an article titled, “The Gods Return”. Philosopher Peter Kingsley’s new books on the reverent roots of Western civilization are reviewed in the current winter quarter of Parabola, called, “A Reverence for the Divine.”)
Crack-up: There’s something about the atmosphere of 2011 that it is harder for rigid and inflexible people to continue to function and stay organized. They feel huge pressure if their way of being with others is to exclude and deny.
Commodities: Gold is still up.
New or different kinds of industrial metals come to the fore.
Silver finds new markets…it’s still up.
A new strain of corn is developed..healthier, stronger, and giving more to people than before.
The biggest event of the year is in late summer or early fall.
The U.S. and President Obama: The U.S. economy is going to improve in 2011 by a lot, juxtaposed with more people continuing to suffer, as there are extreme breakdowns in the lives of some people. Also, although on the whole the U.S. is going to be fine, freak things happen that worry us. It’s a ruthless year when it comes to the forces slashing through flimsy support systems.
In the future, The Dream Act will find a way, perhaps through a ground-swelling people movement. Believe it or not, the Republican Congress is what helps forward a U.S.A. with heart.
It is President Obama’s most pioneering year: On the agenda are a lot of experiments, exploration–things that don’t come to fruition right away. There are new roles for government, and a lot of testing of those roles. President Obama still frustrates people, they still don’t see what he’s doing, and where he’s going. He continues to surprise people.
2011 predictions for different countries
Afghanistan: It gets vicious, and hard on Americans…it is easy for terrorists to take advantage of Afghanistan.
Argentina: Argentina gets better organized and lays down a foundation that allows growth. President Kirchner does better…something that she tries, works.
Brazil continues to grow economically, but it doesn’t make much progress socially in terms of curing social ills. (I’m surprised at this prediction: it conflicts with what I read about how Brazil’s poor have made big gains in income, much greater than how fast the rich have grown. )
Canada: Canada starts out great and then for some reason it is opposed and there’s conflict to manage.
China’s growth slows in 2011.
India: People are more positive about India, more willing to invest and believe in its potential.
Ireland can break apart…they need a different infrastructure, and one in place for a long time is dislodged.
Mexico: It’s sort of every man for himself in Mexico as peoples’ independent ways and self-reliance become stronger. The drug cartels don’t set up their power structures in 2011, it’s an ongoing process.
North Korea’s need for partnership grows critical, as it doesn’t find a way to meet its goals without outside help.
Pakistan: More hopeless. Like the whipping boy/scapegoat for what’s wrong in the world, it becomes concentrated in its difficulties.
Saudi Arabia has another big resource discovery (or some other positive and exciting development.)
Thailand: Discoveries and growth bring money and attention to Thailand–maybe its tourist industry gets better. It has a brighter future.
Personal and Spiritual Guidance for 2011
It’s first wise to try the impossible if it’s what you want to do. Attempt that tricky balancing act; try scaling that alluring mountain.
It’s very easy to get distracted, it’s easy to not listen and miss important directions. Be ruthless about what you’re willing to give your attention to, and then give it fully. It’s a summer when focus brings results, and anything short of your best shot could fall short.
People greet old friends from the distant past…past life karma galore this year, and individuals you were once close to can now illuminate and enlighten you with their presence. Look for the lesson in the people you deal with in 2011, especially this winter, and look for the blessing, perhaps in disguise.
Three quarters through the year seems to be a detonation point for a great deal of good, and talent, to be unleashed. In the beginning of the year, think in terms of self-healing, maintenance, and self-support, rather than pushing yourself to achieve in the world. By treating yourself well, you make a way for yourself to flow with powerful creative energies later in the year.
The earth in spirit is tired of restrictions imposed by looking backward and reflecting…it wants to be creative as hell! It is changing colors, it is getting vibrant, the skies want to be bejeweled by the twinkling genius from below, and it will be!
Only take a REALLY obvious “No!” for a “no” answer. Continue, perhaps gingerly, to go in a direction you want, following sometimes faint signs of success, but stay curious about where your interests and designs can take you.
Dare, venture, collaborate, and accept others— this is no time to look a gift horse in the mouth.
Bow to the superior wisdom of the creative self, that may ask you to make sacrifices and try things that seem outlandish or marginal in some way.
Psychic Messages for the Astrological Signs -Read your Sun, Moon, and Rising
Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) this winter: If things get bad, know it’s the dark before the dawn (in fact, the dark may have been a short-lived period right after the Winter Solstice,–you should perk up soon after the New Year.) You’ve got the wind at your back, your sails are set, it’s better than you think! Just act–do what you do–when you move forward, you’ll be helped.
Water signs( Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) this winter: Water signs are trying to finish up business, get out of things that have stressed them out. The end of the winter brings resolution and finality. It’s a strong finish.
Air signs (Gemini, Libra, Aquarius): for this winter: You are slowed down for some reason, then get an official go-ahead that you’ve been waiting for. Success is likely in May. There’s a huge difference between the beginning of the year and the end
Earth signs (Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn) this winter. Earth signs go through a lot of change in 2011, so this forecast is just for the winter. They live “need to what’s received”, season by season. Earth signs, naturally enough, are preoccupied with arranging their material world affairs, and planning for stability. There are opportunities to secure a footing in business or a new enterprise. (And this is when to execute plans for future stability.) Taurus gets special opportunities.
2011 for the Astrological Signs
Aries: You have a strong drive to succeed, to win…you can conquer and triumph in 2011. You get to play an official role you excel in, that really brings your talent out. What you’ve done in the past can align you with very good fortune…you can be chosen for something good because of it.
Taurus: 2011 is a great year for you, and you’re probably in a good mood when it starts. Narrow your goals for success..stay within bounds dictated by practical, reasonable, and personally beneficial goals. Build up your brand. You are more on your own than usual…but certain strengths and resources get developed that couldn’t if you were in partnership. You get on the same page with powers that be. You can feel like this is your time, that you’ve reached a maturity that can and should create opportunities for you, so you have no problem accepting success. Just make sure you work at things that compensate you.
Gemini: Excited about a new year, you’re confident, perky, and have a good attitude. Your focus is to get yourself set up to successfully carry out plans, and there’s a lot of activity in April when you really are making moves…perhaps literally. A calculated risk can put you in a better position.
Self-employed, you can establish the right contacts and better your future significantly.
Cancer: For some, there’s a question whether you are sustained in your present location; there can be also be resistance to your ideas and ways. You can be excited about something you’ve finished that was a lot of hard work, that leads to new roles. Something you enjoy doing is crowned by a position it puts you in, with travel in your future.
Leo: You are a much larger presence in 2011. You intend to get graced by gifts from the spirit, the forces are with you, and you get back your pizzazz is you think you lost it. Things you want are granted, and you have opportunity. For many, you’re not going to see the benefits of some directions you’re going in, but it looks like you make good choices, and it’s good to do things your way. This year, be sure to take time out and refresh yourself–take a break from your responsibilities.
Virgo: A problem, a difficulty…some sort of shake-up in your material world, can lead to a better solution for your life. A conflict can be the first part of a positive change. Life works in mysterious ways this year. Sort of behind your back, things can get set up that work in your favor. Don’t be daunted by the beginning of any new developments.
Libra: This year, you will be required to do something or give up something, to get what you want creatively. You let go of a lot of habits and knee-jerk reactions…you can change professions or directions more easily. You are released from much, are unlikely to be opposed, and receive help from people. Children may play a larger role in your life.
Scorpio: Happier days, more rainbows, more genuine smiles…2011 finds you lightening up. There’s a lot that comes to the surface, and you find better coping methods. You are generally less afraid of what has been chronically challenging. You gain an emotional maturity and have a new fearlessness about you. You have to be careful about money as it’s a naturally slow time. Don’t take risks, it’s easy to lose.
Sagittarius: You might end up in the right place after all, but not see that in the beginning of the year. Somehow, it all works out! Expect more emotional stability, harmony with others, good partnerships…it turns into a copacetic year when you’re supportive and supported.
Capricorn: You go through some of the biggest change ever this year. You’re very stark and unapologetic about what you need, what you want, and what is right for you, and you can receive a lot. Even though you’re a straight shooter, you must act with grace, then you can accomplish a great deal…diplomacy is key. Being mild in emotionally rough waters leads to success.
Aquarius: This is a holy and high year, because of a greater freedom you establish for yourself. Your heart wins out, and your will and heart can produce a miracle. Conflict seems to mar the task of getting what you want in the beginning, all the way up to April. May through July is when you can figure out how to make something happen…it may mean accepting people who are not exactly your type, but helpful to you nonetheless. If there’s a strong desire in your life, you will have it this year.
Pisces: A part of you is developing that’s highly creative, expressive, and powerful…cater to the mysterious self within! You may not be able to swing into action the way you’d like, because your plan is not well-received or possible at this time. You’ve yet to find how to really connect your desire to how it can be fulfilled. It has more steps to it than first thought, and you must work harder than expected to get what you want. Things take awhile to happen.
