My Life as a Psychic in Three Parts
First job as a psychic: Psychic for Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Review, 1976. Bob Dylan and friends showed me that having a magical life and making money were quite compatible. Second job: tarot and palm reader at The Bottom of the Cup Tea Room, Royal Street, New Orleans,1976, arranged for me by the late Reverend James, sweet-shop owner extroardinaire and exceptional healer. Third: A full-time professional psychic counseling and healing practice based in San Francisco, California, 1979. I'm still on my third job, now based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I work in person and over the phone, with about 15 per cent of my business out of the country, primarily in Italy, Belgium, and England.
Before I did psychic work professionally, I did paraprofessional counseling for six years at the Santa Barbara County Mental Health Clinic. I also proposed and developed a peer counseling program for the University of California at Santa Barbara, working for six years under the supervision of Dr. Richard Lambert, the chief psychiatrist at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California.
My main metaphysical training has been a twenty year apprenticeship with trance medium Eric Teissedre, originally from Santa Barbara. He was and is also a brilliant astrologer , spiritual counselor and healer, and inventor of divination systems. Going into trance from his late teens, Eric's spirit guides instructed me in both private and public classes, teaching me how to divinate, do healing work, and channel. When I was ready, I took out an ad in Common Ground magazine in the Bay Area, and given the time and the place, California in the '70's, that was all I needed to thrive in my calling. I still love doing clairvoyant readings and healing work as well as the ever-fascinating format of a circle (group work). Circles have properties that amplify people's ability to change and heal. Divination is an important component of much of my work, and I use unique tools from Peru, Brazil, and Europe.
